Walk Against Hunger

Walk Day Schedule

Saturday, May 21, 2022 – Dunkin’ Donuts Park, Hartford, CT

8:00 AM - Registration opens, entertainment and family activities begin

9:30 AM - Walk program begins with Renee DiNino and Scot Haney

10:00 AM - Walk steps off, the route is 1.5 miles, starting and ending at Dunkin’ Donuts Park

Shelter Serves take place the first Saturday of each month throughout the year.

MCCT is currently partnering with Chicken City Halal Restaurant to deliver individual food boxes directly to Mercy Shelter in Hartford.

Who We Are

The Muslim Coalition of Connecticut (MCCT) is a non-profit organization with a mission to promote American Islamic Values through education, outreach, and community service.

The Muslim Coalition of Connecticut (MCCT) was founded in 2004 by a group of local leaders in an effort to provide an alternative to the negative illustrations of Muslims. The leadership of the Berlin, Waterbury, and Hartford Muslim communities came together with other activists to establish an organization that would focus on educating the public on Islam and Muslims and building alliances with other faith communities in Connecticut through social activism and collective civil programming.

What We Do

Speakers Bureau

Training and developing speakers on a variety of topics such as Islamic beliefs and practices, women in Islam, shariah, Islamic jihad (religiously sanctioned fighting or defense), and democracy and Islam.

Community Service

We engage in a variety of community service programs that are focused on improving  quality of life for CT
residences and addressing  needs of  vulnerable populations.

03.

Outreach

MCCT creates and sponsors events to bring Muslims and non-Muslims together to engage in activities which foster community involvement and religious education. We give people the opportunity to learn by doing and connecting. 

04.

Collaboration

Solidarity, education, and peace are core values that are reflected by our initiatives to collaborate with Muslim student associations, businesses, and cultural organizations in our community.
