Food Pantry
The Muslim Coalition of Connecticut works with Hands on Hartford to provide Halal food to the needy. Part of our work with Hands on Hartford is to provide training to the staff and volunteers about Islam and Muslims so that they are better able to serve their Muslim clients, With a grant from Islamic Relief USA we are able to provide families with milk, eggs, fresh produce and Halal meat. Each year we receive around 3,000 lbs of Halal meat to distribute to those in need for Eid ul Adha from Islamic Relief USA.
Walk Against Hunger
Each year we support Foodshare’s Walk Against Hunger with our Muslims Against Hunger – the “We Care Team!” Foodshare is the regional food bank serving Connecticut’s Hartford and Tolland counties, where more than 119,000 people struggle with hunger.
